Paper Bark is a screenwriting platform created to make writing a screenplay simpler, more accessible and more focused.
We believe writers should be able to concentrate on their stories—not complicated tools, difficult formatting or unnecessary barriers that prevent them from getting started.
Paper Bark gives screenwriters, filmmakers, students and emerging storytellers a dedicated space to create projects, write professionally formatted screenplays and export their scripts.
Because every film begins with a page—and every page begins when someone decides to write.
Our Story
Paper Bark began in 2024 after we encountered a problem experienced by many independent writers and filmmakers: professional screenwriting software often felt expensive, complicated or inaccessible.
We saw stories waiting in notebooks, scattered documents and unfinished files. Many writers had ideas they wanted to develop, but the tools intended to help them sometimes became another obstacle between the idea and the first page.
We believed there should be a simpler and more accessible way to begin.
Instead of waiting for the right solution, we started building it.
What began as a response to our own experience gradually developed into a larger mission: to create a screenwriting environment where storytellers can focus on writing without allowing the software to stand in the way of their creativity.
That idea became Paper Bark.
Why We Exist
Too many stories remain unwritten.
Some are postponed until tomorrow. Some remain scattered across notebooks and documents. Others never become screenplays because the process appears too complicated or inaccessible.
Paper Bark exists to reduce the distance between an idea and a written script.
We cannot create the story for the writer. The imagination, voice and creative decisions will always belong to them. Our role is to provide a focused and dependable space where their story can take shape.
